Since I arrived in the UK in 2013, I strive to overcome the language barrier and in order to do that, nearly from the beginning I organize a Language Exchange group that it’s advertised at https://www.meetup.com/spanish-english-exchange-in-angel/
I did it at first for my own interest to practice my English but now that it has become proficient, I keep hosting these meetings to help others to go through the same challenge I once went and to socialise.
When I started, we used to meet at a pub in The Angel, Islington but during the lockdown we had no other but to meet online on zoom and the experience was well and easier, so we keep meeting on Zoom.
